Boule Bars & Playing Venues

Every commercial venue that offers petanque play to the public can register as a Boule Bar in the platform. The Boule Bar Registry stores location (geo-coordinates), photos, court count, court surface (gravel, sand, professional dressing), indoor/outdoor split, and amenities (food, drinks, terrace, accessibility). The map display uses proximity search keyed off the user's current location or a typed city, with filters for 'open now', 'rental available', 'has indoor courts', and 'verified'.

Opening Hours and Court Information are structured per weekday with seasonal overrides (summer terraces, winter closures) and special-event blocks; the venue can mark courts as bookable through the Court Booking system or walk-in only. The Events and Recurring Activities module lets a venue publish weekly mêlée nights, open tournaments, beginner clinics, and league-night fixtures — these syndicate to the petanque calendar (F13) and to a venue-specific landing page. Equipment Rental Availability tracks how many sets are loanable, condition, and any deposit required, so a tourist arriving without boules can quickly find a venue that lends.

Verified Badges are awarded to venues that have completed identity verification, signed the platform terms, and confirmed accurate hours; Featured Venue badges are paid placements that boost map visibility and add a highlight card on the regional homepage. Boule bars can also act as Click & Collect pickup points for marketplace orders (F11.02) and host POS terminals for in-person sales (snacks, accessories, cap rentals).
